From my baby camel
(thanks to kaikai villalba for the photo)
I’m a tambay of “Cafe Memento” (that small coffee shop near Silliman Hall, beyond the fence. haha) and most of the time I hang out there alone. I go there just to do some writing sessions with my baby camel (my leather-covered notebook embossed with an image of a camel. haha! I’ll soon post a photo). Cafe Memento turned me into a coffee addict, and now I can finish at least five cups per writing session–they have bottomless coffee for only 45 pesos. Some of my friends who see me there become curious on what I am writing about, but I don’t show it to them as I have an awful handwriting. hahaha! So to satisfy their curiousity, here’s a sample of the whatever-crosses-my-mind poems I wrote, which are supposed to be made into songs, but I still have no time to make the tunes. I hope you can help me conceptualize.
IN YOUR ARMS
If I come back to you what do I get?
You’re too huge of a responsibility, I would be overwhelmed
The life that you are might eat all of me
I’d wake up one day not regretting but in increasing hunger
Those who took your risks are in diverse situations
They who never held back found life-long satisfaction
But the hesitants became incomparably miserable
Going back to you could mean riding the wheels of death
The dark corner I seldom fear coz I know the fulfillment is double. It’s worth it.
I’d stop stirring my time when I am in your arms
A sure direction has been set for me not to wander
Every pain has an equal gain
And I would be given the sure key to good heaven
The world would first question, some would sell me for a penny
But eventually they will embrace our cause
They will live the lesson of this great battle
They’ll take good care of me as I gave my life to them
I’ll catch that drop of glory meant for me
And everyone will be blessed, everyone will share
Glory is ours
Victory is ours
